maybe, again.

I get covid and lay in bed for days, reading “bad fiction.” I lean into the idleness, although I still sweep the floors and fight with the long strings of hair I leave behind. My bed is too comfortable and my body is this vessel of infection.

I've wasted my afternoon lingering on inconsequential subjects.
But tomorrow will be different. This hangover will lift.
I will make my bed. Run that extra mile. And scrub my kitchen tiles.
I will apologize because I know I am not at my best.
